Trusted support when big decisions lie ahead

No matter if HD in a center, CAPD at home or any other form of renal replacement therapy. Once needed, we accompany your patients in learning about everyday life implications of the different treatment options. You are of course in full control of the therapy and all medical decisions. But what we can offer which you can’t is time. Time to listen to patient’s fears, time to answer questions over and over again, and time to faciliate peer exchange with others who have gone through the same experience.

We walk the extra mile to engage your patients

Patient interaction, education and monitoring impact long-term outcomes in CKD but often require an involvement level that nephrologists can’t provide. Kidney+ helps you save time by providing your patients with an on-top trusted partner who has validated answers to their questions around kidney health, diet, dialysis, and other topics we all know one may run into. With Kidney+, we do everything possible to ensure the care you prescribe is followed and to relieve your day-to-day workflows.

The untapped potential of therapy adherence
There is clear medical evidence that highlights the importance of patient empowerment on CKD progression and the selection of the dialysis modalities. However, everyday behaviour of CKD patients is not always what nephrologists hope for. We aim to increase compliance and therapy adherence by involving patients in their prescribed treatment more actively.

Which patients can enrol in Kidney+?
Generally speaking, Kidney+ is currently limited to patients with a CKD diagnosis of stages 3a and above, but not yet on renal replacement therapy (e.g., dialysis or kidney transplant). They need to own a smartphone or tablet with internet access and be capable of using basic app functions such as chat and videocalling.
Who exactly is the Kidney+ care team?
Our Kidney+ care team consists of experienced CKD nurses, seasoned dieticians and veteran patients, who have been trained to be peers for others. All coaches are generally hired by the Kidney+ program and run through extensive coaching training.
What exactly do the Kidney+ coaches do?
Throughout their app and video coaching, our Kidney+ coaches follow a structured curriculum that draws from international standards, best-practices and decades of nursing and coaching experience in nephrology. They cover topics such as general health and disease awareness, emotional support, nutrition, explaining treatment options, etc. The Kidney+ team does not make any sort of therapeutic recommendations or decisions.
How does Kidney+ handle patient data?
Each patient owns their personal health data. When they enrol in Kidney+, they allow our care team to view some of their app data to better understand general health and program progress. Kidney+ does not share sensible health data with any third parties, unless users have explicitly given consent to do so.
Who pays for Kidney+?
Depending on the country, costs for program participation can be covered by kidney care providers, health insurances and/or affiliate partners. Patients are not being charged for any services in Kidney+.
Who is behind Kidney+?
Kidney+ is a team of caregivers, dieticians, doctors, product designers and software engineers working at the tech startup Carealytix that specializes in nephrology. Our mission is to empower people with chronic kidney disease to better access health education and resources to live a healthier life. To realize this mission, we partner with nephrology care providers, health insurances and industry partners.
